The king's effigy shows detailed chasing of the periwig curls and drapery folds at the truncation. Encircling the bust is the Latin legend GVLIELMVS · DEI · GRATIA ·, separated by raised dots, reading clockwise around the periphery. The field is slightly granular, consistent with the milled coinage of the Edinburgh Mint. A small decorative element is visible at the base of the truncation. |
