| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of John Wilkinson, the celebrated ironmaster, rendered in a classical portrait style within a plain inner border. The hair is dressed in the fashion of the period, swept back and queue-styled. The circular legend around the periphery reads IOHN WILKINSON IRON MASTER, with the lettering evenly spaced against the field. The portrait is bold in relief and occupies the majority of the coin's face, consistent with the medallic tradition of the Conder token series. |

| Reverse description | A scene depicting the interior of an iron forge, with a large power hammer or forge press dominating the left portion of the field, its massive mechanical form rendered in considerable detail. To the right, a muscular workman is shown stooped over an anvil or workblock, actively engaged in the ironworking process, evoking the industrial activity for which Wilkinson was renowned. The date 1787 appears in the exergue below the scene, and the entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. The composition is an early and notable numismatic celebration of British industrial enterprise. |
