Annulets are present in two of the quarters, serving as the primary mint and issue identifier for this Calais Annulet coinage. The design follows the standard reverse type established for Lancastrian halfpennies, with the cross providing a functional division of the flan. A Latin legend in uncial lettering encircles the design, identifying the town of Calais as the place of issue. |
