| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing crowned bust of King Edward III rendered in the medieval hammered style, with the crown visible above the monarch's head and rudimentary facial features depicted in low relief. The effigy is set within an irregular flan typical of hammered Irish coinage of the period. A partially legible legend in Latin surrounds the bust, reading EDW ARDV SREX, identifying the issuing monarch. The overall style is characteristic of the Dublin Mint's production during the early fourteenth century, with bold but somewhat crude die engraving. The coin's small flan results in portions of the legend being partially off-flan. |
