| Reverse description | At centre, a heraldic shield quartered with Australian colonial emblems — including a bull, a sheaf of wheat, a castle, and a fleece — surmounted by a radiant rising sun above the shield's chief. The shield is supported on the dexter side by an emu and on the sinister side by a kangaroo, both standing on a scrolled ribbon banner inscribed ADVANCE AUSTRALIA. The legend QUEENSLAND arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, and the date 1863 appears in the lower field beneath the supporters. The composition is executed in a bold relief style consistent with mid-nineteenth-century colonial Australian trade token engraving. |
