Obverse description Plain copper field enclosed within a continuous beaded border. The word ROCKHAMPTON appears in raised block capitals across the centre of the field. The circular legend QUEENSLAND STORES arcs across the upper periphery, while D. T. MULLIGAN runs along the lower periphery, both legends separated from the beaded rim by a narrow flat margin. The overall design is purely typographic, with no pictorial device, conveying the commercial token character of this tradesman's piece issued for use at D.T. Mulligan's Queensland Stores in Rockhampton.
