The shield occupies the majority of the flan, with no surrounding legend, the design being confined within a border of raised pellets encircling the entire periphery. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with hand-hammered production, and the field shows characteristic flatness and flow lines typical of mid-seventeenth-century Commonwealth coinage. |

| Description du revers | Central device comprising a heraldic shield bearing the Irish harp, depicted with a winged female figure as the neck of the instrument, the strings rendered in fine parallel lines.
