The design is executed in low relief on a thin, irregularly shaped hammered silver flan characteristic of bracteate-style production. The flan shows the pronounced warping and surface irregularities inherent to medieval striking technique. Despite significant wear and patination, the cross device and surrounding beaded ring remain discernible. |
