| Popis rubu | The Portuguese royal coat of arms, a square shield charged with five escutcheons in cross arrangement each bearing five bezants, and bordered by a bordure of seven castles, occupies the centre of the field. The shield is surmounted by the Portuguese royal crown and flanked on either side by symmetrical sprays of acanthus-like foliage with small blossoms, all set against a plain field. No legend appears on the reverse, the design relying entirely on the heraldic imagery. |
