Reverse description The winged allegorical figure of Winged Victory (La Libertad), inspired by the Angel of Independence monument in Mexico City, is depicted in full frontal view, striding forward in flowing classical drapery. Her right arm is raised aloft holding a laurel wreath, while her left arm extends outward at her side. The figure is set against a landscape background featuring the volcanic peaks of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl in low relief. To the left of the figure the denomination 1/2 ONZA appears, and to the right ORO PURO, with the Mexico City mint mark (Mo) below. The legend 1994 MEXICO LEY .999 arcs along the lower periphery.
