The inscription names the issuing ruler Shah Tahmasb and identifies the mint as Soltaniyeh, arranged across several horizontal registers that fill the flan to its irregular edges. Diacritical dots are visible on several letterforms, attesting to careful die-cutting despite the hammered technique.
