Reverse description The reverse field bears a three-line Arabic inscription in Ottoman script, reading the mint formula and regnal year, enclosed within a braided or cable border. The upper two lines record the mint name and the word 'zarb' (struck), while the lower portion displays the Hijri accession year 1255 in Eastern Arabic numerals. The layout is formal and symmetrical, typical of mid-nineteenth-century Ottoman gold coinage from the Constantinople mint.
