| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Ferdinand VII facing right, with truncation at the shoulder, dividing the fractional value 1/2 to the left and the denomination mark M. to the right of the neck. The circular legend FERDINANDUS·III·D·G·NAVARRE·REX runs around the periphery, with the date ·1818· positioned in the lower exergual area. The portrait is rendered in a classical neoclassical style typical of early 19th-century Spanish coinage. |
