| Reverse description | Crowned quartered Este dynastic shield of arms, supported on either side by an eagle displayed, rendered in the bold relief characteristic of Baroque Italian hammered coinage. The shield is elaborately mantled with foliate scrollwork at the base. A circular Latin legend surrounds the composition, reading · NOBILITAS · ESTENSIS ·, a motto referencing the nobility of the Este family. The crown above the shield is shown in detail with arched elements. The overall composition is centrally placed on the flan, with the supporting eagles and ornamental mantling filling the field on either side. |
