| Descripción del anverso | Central field bears a crowned quartered shield displaying the combined arms of Austria-Burgundy, with the quarters showing the distinctive heraldic divisions associated with the Habsburg-Burgundian inheritance. The royal crown surmounts the shield, rendered in relief above the upper edge of the escutcheon. A circular Latin legend surrounds the shield in the outer ring, partially legible on this struck example. The design is characteristic of the hammered coinage of Philip II for the Duchy of Brabant, executed in a bold if somewhat crude die-cut style typical of late sixteenth-century low-denomination Netherlandish issues. |

| Descripción del reverso | Central field features a Burgundian cross with flint steels (firesteel) in the angles, an emblematic reference to the Order of the Golden Fleece, with the jewel of the Order pendant at the center intersection of the cross arms. The cross is surmounted by a crown and the date is divided by the upright of the cross. A mintmark, where present, appears at the conclusion of the surrounding circular Latin legend. The overall composition is characteristic of the 'Gigot' or half-liard type struck for Brabant under Philip II, with the design confined within a beaded inner circle. |
