Nasik, controlling the Deccan trade routes through the Western Ghats, was commercially significant enough to warrant its own issues. Rano Siri Satakarni is tentatively identified among the early Satavahana rulers, though the dynasty's king-list remains contested, with several rulers sharing near-identical names across different regnal sequences.
