Mô tả mặt trước Bare-headed effigy of King Willem I facing right, with curly hair rendered in fine detail. The portrait is executed in high relief in a classical neoclassical style. The encircling legend reads WILLEM KONING DER NED. G.H.V.L., separated at the base of the bust. The field is smooth and deeply struck, with a beaded border surrounding the entire design.

Thông tin bổ sung

These pieces exist because Willem I was actively pushing for a unified colonial currency system in the late 1820s, and pattern coinage was ordered to test potential designs before any circulating issue was committed to production. Neither KM#Pn1 nor KM#Pn2 ever advanced beyond pattern status — the half gulden denomination in gold was ultimately abandoned for the Indies, leaving these as dead-end proposals from a reform that only partially succeeded.

Delmonte's listing under G#1195 confirms the gold composition as intentional to the pattern specification, not a mule or error. Surviving examples are exceptionally few.
