Obverse description Large papal arms of Pope Innocent XI (Benedetto Odescalchi) occupying the central field, consisting of a quartered shield bearing an eagle in the chief and three lions passant in the lower quarters, surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys. The shield is flanked by elaborate baroque foliate scrollwork. The abbreviated papal legend curves around the coin within a beaded border.
