Ecclesiasticus 4:2). The text is rendered in bold upright Roman capitals of uniform size, arranged in a stacked format framed by simple foliate flourishes at the sides and base. A beaded border encircles the design. The simplicity and directness of the reverse composition is typical of the smaller Papal States hammered silver denominations of the early eighteenth century. Varieties are distinguished by the number and arrangement of points above and below the inscription. |
