The legend, rendered in uncial Gothic lettering, reads BnDICTV SIT nOmE DnI NRI DEI ED REX AnGLIE, invoking a benediction to the Lord and citing Edward as King of England. The design is enclosed within a double beaded circle. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan and uneven strike typical of mid-14th-century hammered silver coinage of Aquitaine. |
