| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central device consists of a short-footed cross with splayed terminals, dividing the field into four quarters. Each quarter is alternately occupied by a rampant lion and a displayed eagle, representing the arms of Guelders and Jülich respectively, a standard heraldic arrangement on Reinoud IV's monetary issues. The legends, struck in Latin capitals, encircle the design within a beaded border and identify this as a new coinage struck at the mint of Arnhem. The overall style conforms to the hammered billon and silver small coinage tradition of the Lower Rhine region in the early fifteenth century. |
