| Descrizione del dritto | Left-facing crowned bust of King David II within a beaded inner circle, the king depicted wearing a jewelled crown and holding a sceptre, with a five-pointed star (mullet) positioned at the base of the sceptre handle. The effigy is rendered in the bold, somewhat stylised manner characteristic of late medieval Scottish hammered coinage. The surrounding legend in Gothic uncial characters is separated from the central device by a beaded border. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A long voided cross extending to the beaded inner border divides the field into four quarters, each containing a five-pointed star (mullet) at its centre. The quarters are further ornamented with typical Gothic detail, and the overall design follows the standard half-groat reverse type of the period. The mint name and devotional legend are inscribed in two concentric registers separated by a beaded border, in Gothic uncial lettering. |
