The effigy is rendered in the bold, somewhat stylised manner characteristic of late medieval Scottish hammered coinage. | Popis rubu | A long voided cross extending to the beaded inner border divides the field into four quarters, each containing a five-pointed star (mullet) at its centre. The quarters are further ornamented with typical Gothic detail, and the overall design follows the standard half-groat reverse type of the period. The mint name and devotional legend are inscribed in two concentric registers separated by a beaded border, in Gothic uncial lettering. |
