| Reverse description | Central field bears the crowned heraldic arms of Charles V, quartered with the royal devices of Castile, Leon, Aragon, and Granada, surmounted by an imperial crown. The shield is rendered in the Gothic heraldic tradition typical of Habsburg Low Countries coinage of the late 16th century. A circular Latin legend surrounds the device within a beaded border, consistent with the siege coinage series produced at Ypres. The hammered strike produces a characteristically irregular planchet with softness in the peripheral legends. |
