| Obverse description | Draped bust of Philip II facing left, with short beard and curled hair, wearing an elaborately ruffled collar and armored pauldron. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Renaissance portrait style typical of Habsburgic coinage. The surrounding legend is divided by rosette stops and reads DOMINVS MIHI ADIVTOR. The coin border is composed of a beaded or pellet ring encircling the entire design field. |
