Beschrijving voorzijde Central field displays the crowned Danish royal arms — an oval shield bearing three passant lions accompanied by nine hearts, the national arms of Denmark — surmounted by a large open crown. The armorial shield is rendered in high relief within an inner beaded border. The surrounding circular legend, struck in bold hammered lettering and broken by the crown at top, reads CHRI·STIAN·IIII·D·G·DAN, abbreviating the king's name and royal style. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, characteristic of hammered gold coinage of the early seventeenth century.

Beschrijving keerzijde Central field features a large royal crown — the Danish closed crown — depicted facing forward with elaborate fleurons and jewelled arched bands, rendered in bold relief within an inner beaded border. Below the crown appear the mint-master's initials and marks. The surrounding legend in hammered Roman capitals reads NORV·VAND·GOTO·Q·REX·1619·R·F·P, recording the king's full royal titles and the date of issue. The overall design is typical of the early hammered gold coinage struck at Copenhagen under Christian IV.
