| Описание аверса | Philip the Good depicted enthroned in full regalia within an elaborate Gothic architectural canopy, holding a sword upright in his right hand and an orb or sceptre in his left. Two heraldic shields are displayed flanking the throne, the dexter bearing the arms of Burgundy-Flanders and the sinister bearing the fleur-de-lis of France, reflecting the dynastic claims of the issuer. Small decorative stars appear along the base of the throne. The entire composition is framed by a beaded inner circle, with the circumferential legend in Gothic uncial characters reading: ✠ PH`S × DVX × BVRG` × COИ × FLAD` × HES × HOLZ3`, identifying Philip as Duke of Burgundy and Count of Flanders, heir to Holland and Zeeland. |

Philip the Good struck the klinkaart — so named for the sharp ringing sound it made when dropped on a hard surface — as part of a broader monetary reform intended to stabilize Flemish coinage after decades of debasement under his predecessors. The half-ecu denomination served exchange needs between the larger gold issues and the silver coinage circulating in the busy commercial markets of Bruges and Ghent.
Delmonte's G#486 places this squarely among the first years of Philip's long reign, before the monetary ordinances of the 1430s further reorganized Burgundian Netherlandish coinage.
