| Beschrijving voorzijde | Philip the Good depicted enthroned in full regalia within an elaborate Gothic architectural canopy, holding a sword upright in his right hand and an orb or sceptre in his left. Two heraldic shields are displayed flanking the throne, the dexter bearing the arms of Burgundy-Flanders and the sinister bearing the fleur-de-lis of France, reflecting the dynastic claims of the issuer. Small decorative stars appear along the base of the throne. The entire composition is framed by a beaded inner circle, with the circumferential legend in Gothic uncial characters reading: ✠ PH`S × DVX × BVRG` × COИ × FLAD` × HES × HOLZ3`, identifying Philip as Duke of Burgundy and Count of Flanders, heir to Holland and Zeeland. |
