| Beschrijving voorzijde | A crowned and enthroned lord is depicted in full frontal view upon a Gothic throne, rendered in the elaborate Late Gothic style characteristic of Burgundian coinage. Flanking the central figure are two heraldic shields: that of Burgundy to the left and Pfalz/Bavaria to the right, each suspended within the composition. The entire design is enclosed within a polylobe of seven arcs forming a cusped inner border, with the legend running in the outer circular field. The inscription in Latin uncial characters identifies the issuer as Philip, Duke of Burgundy and Count of Flanders, heir to Holland and Zeeland. |
