Obverse description Central shield bearing the diagonal band (bend sinister) of the Utrecht arms, surmounted by a mural crown with elaborate foliate finials. The shield displays a flat top characteristic of the Utrecht provincial heraldic tradition. The entire device is rendered in high relief against a plain field, with the serrated border of the coin visible at the periphery.

Reverse description Interlaced VOC monogram of the Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie displayed prominently in the center of the field. A privy mark in the form of a small shield appears at the top, flanked by dots, identifying the Utrecht mint. The date of issue is inscribed in the exergue below the monogram.
