Reverse description The crowned coat of arms of the United Provinces of the Netherlands occupies the central field, flanked on either side by a rampant crowned lion serving as supporter. The date appears below the shield within a cartouche. The legend commences with the small shield of Utrecht arms as an initial mark at the beginning of the inscription, which runs along the coin's periphery within a beaded border. The composition is formal and heraldic in character, consistent with the standard reverse type of Dutch provincial coinage of the period.
