| Descrizione del dritto | The arms of Zug displayed within an elaborate Baroque cartouche featuring bold foliate and scrollwork ornamentation. The oval shield, centrally positioned, bears the distinctive wavy-barred charge of Zug and is framed by symmetrical acanthus-style volutes extending to all quarters of the field. The coin's border is defined by a continuous pellet or bead rim encircling the entire design. The overall composition reflects the high Baroque engraving style characteristic of Swiss cantonal coinage of the late seventeenth century. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A three-line Latin inscription occupies the central field, reading DVCA REIPVB TVGIEN, identifying the issuing authority as the Republic of Zug. Beneath the inscription, the denomination of one-half ducat flanks the divided date 1692, presented as 16 and 92 on either side of the fractional value. The entire design is enclosed within a wreath composed of laurel branches, a classical device denoting civic honour and authority. The composition follows the standard typology of Swiss cantonal trade ducats of the period. |

Zug was among the smallest and least populous of the Swiss cantons, and its gold coinage from this period was struck in quantities so limited that most surviving examples are held in institutional collections. The 1692 date falls within a period when Swiss cantonal authorities were under pressure to align trade coinage with the circulation standards demanded by merchants operating across the Rhine into the Holy Roman Empire.
The HMZ reference places this squarely within the documented Zuger gold series, but confirmed auction appearances remain sparse.
