背面描述	Central copper-nickel disc bears the fraction '1/2' in Eastern Arabic numerals at centre, surrounded by an elaborate arabesque foliate ornamental wreath rendered in intricate relief. The aluminium bronze outer ring carries a bilingual legend along the upper arc reading 'THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN' in Latin script, with 'HALF DINAR' at lower left and 'نصف دينار' (Half Dinar) at lower right in Arabic script. The dual Hijri and Gregorian dates '١٤١٧هـ ~ ١٩٩٧مـ' appear along the lower periphery of the ring.
