| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bearing a multi-line Kufic religious legend arranged in horizontal registers within a double or triple concentric circular border. The inscription, though partially degraded due to the hammered fabric and irregular flan, contains typical Fatimid-style formulaic phrases including the Shahada and references to the imam or caliph. An outer marginal legend in Kufic script runs along the inner rim, separated from the central text by a beaded or linear border. The execution is characteristic of Yemeni Sulayhid coinage struck in vassalage to the Fatimid caliphate, with bold but somewhat uneven letterforms reflecting provincial mint practice. |
