An outer marginal legend in Kufic script runs along the inner rim, separated from the central text by a beaded or linear border. The execution is characteristic of Yemeni Sulayhid coinage struck in vassalage to the Fatimid caliphate, with bold but somewhat uneven letterforms reflecting provincial mint practice. |
