| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped armored bust of Philip II facing left, with ruffled collar and short beard, occupying the central field. The date appears in the lower exergue, divided by a fleur-de-lis mint mark. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading from the upper left. The portrait is rendered in a robust, high-relief hammered style characteristic of Spanish Habsburgian coinage of the late sixteenth century. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central shield bearing the crowned royal arms of the Spanish Habsburg dominions, with the jewel of the Order of the Golden Fleece suspended below on a collar. The shield is superimposed upon a Burgundian saltire cross, flanked on either side by fire-steels, emblems of the Order of the Golden Fleece. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition. The design follows the standard Burgundian heraldic typology established for the Low Countries under Habsburg rule. |
