The shield is superimposed upon a Burgundian saltire cross, flanked on either side by fire-steels, emblems of the Order of the Golden Fleece. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition. The design follows the standard Burgundian heraldic typology established for the Low Countries under Habsburg rule. |
