| Reverse description | The titanium centre bears a faithful three-dimensional reproduction of the celebrated 1847 'Post Office Mauritius' Two Pence stamp, engraved by William Wyon, depicting the diademed left-facing portrait of Queen Victoria within a square stamp cartouche inscribed POST OFFICE on the left, MAURITIUS on the right, POSTAGE at the top, and TWO PENCE at the base. The gold outer ring is engine-turned with a fine cross-hatched guilloche pattern and carries the commemorative circular legend, divided by diagonal corner brackets, reading 160TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNIFORM PENNY POST. The denomination 1/2 CROWN appears at the bottom of the gold ring below the stamp design. |
