The shield is surmounted by a royal crown and enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend ATQVE · AVDACIBVS · ANNVE · COEPTIS, completing the Virgilian motto from the obverse, is inscribed between the beaded border and the inner circle in crisp Latin lettering. |
