| Description du revers | A prominent Celtic high cross fills the central field, its arms and ring richly decorated with interlaced knotwork in the traditional Insular style, set against a mirror-polished background. A circular boss marks the centre of the ring, with four smaller perforations at the junctions of the arms. Flanking the cross on either side are naturalistic sprays of Easter lily blooms and foliage in low relief, evoking the Easter Rising commemorative tradition. The two-line legend REMEMBER THEIR SACRIFICE is inscribed in bold relief along the lower exergue. A small triquetra or shamrock motif appears at the very base of the design. |
