| Obverse description | Printed in blue on light blue paper with a dense guilloche underprint of repeating numeral "1/2" throughout. An ornate border with scrollwork and decorative corner devices frames the note, with the large numeral "1/2" in each corner. The issuer's name arcs across the upper field in bold letterpress type, below which a central cartouche encloses the denomination "ONE-HALF CERTIFICATE" in intaglio-style lettering. Flanking the central text, two shield vignettes bearing the "CIGARS / UNITED" trademark appear at left and right, with a facsimile corporate signature below the redemption clause. |
