Beschrijving voorzijde Diademed and draped bust of Queen Victoria facing left, her hair drawn back and gathered in a chignon, wearing a finely detailed crown or tiara. The engraver's initials 'C.M.' appear at the truncation of the neck. The effigy is set within a raised inner circle bordered by an ornate Greek key pattern, itself framed by a beaded outer border. Aanvullende informatie

Ceylon's copper fractional coinage of this period served the island's plantation economy, where tea and rubber laborers were paid in small denomination scrip that frequently referenced these coins as base units. The half cent's extended production run across Victoria's reign reflects persistent demand from low-value daily transactions in Colombo's bazaars rather than any single monetary reform.

KM#91 is known with minor date varieties across the three-decade span. The Royal Mint in London struck all issues; no Colombo facility existed for coin production.
