| Beschrijving keerzijde | A rampant lion passant, facing left, enclosed within a six-lobed (sexfoil) inner circle, rendered in the bold and somewhat schematic style of mid-fifteenth-century Castilian hammered coinage. The lion's mane and musculature are indicated by incised lines, and the figure fills the central field of the sexfoil. A Latin circumscription encircles the design between the inner border and the coin's irregular rim, reading ENRICVS CARTVS REX, identifying Henry IV as king. The strike is typical of the period, with uneven flan edges and variable relief across the surface. |
