Surrounding the central panel, the equivalent value of two pice is rendered in four regional scripts: Urdu (دو پیسہ) at top, Bengali (দুই পাই) at left, Telugu (రెండు పైసలు) at right, and Devanagari (दो पैसे) at bottom, reflecting the multilingual character of British India.
