The legend GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR curves along the upper periphery in Latin script, flanked on both sides by decorative foliate scroll ornaments. A toothed border runs around the inner edge of the square flan, framing the design on all four sides. The overall style reflects the standard portrait used on late British Indian coinage from the 1940s. |

Surrounding the central panel, the equivalent value of two pice is rendered in four regional scripts: Urdu (دو پیسہ) at top, Bengali (দুই পাই) at left, Telugu (రెండు పైసలు) at right, and Devanagari (दो पैसे) at bottom, reflecting the multilingual character of British India. The date appears within the central design. A plain rim borders the entire reverse field within the square flan. |
