| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field carries a multi-line Persian legend in Nasta'liq script, largely off flan owing to the diminutive planchet. The inscription records the mint name and regnal year: 'Zarb Murshidabad sanat 12 julus maimanat manus,' indicating the coin was struck at the Murshidabad mint in the 12th year of the emperor's auspicious reign. Layout is consistent with Bengal Presidency fractional rupee coinage of the period, with the mint epithet 'maimanat manus' (of tranquil prosperity) a standard honorific applied to the Murshidabad issue. The hammered fabric produces a slightly irregular outline typical of this series. |
