| Descrizione del dritto | Central field bears a multi-line Persian legend in Nasta'liq script, partially off flan due to the small planchet size relative to the die. The inscription reads the imperial titles of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II: 'Sikka zad bar haft kishwar saya fazl Ilah Hami ud-din Muhammad Shah Alam Badshah,' affirming his sovereignty over the seven climes as shadow of divine favour and defender of the faith. The regnal year in AH dating appears within or adjacent to the legend. Execution is characteristic of late Mughal hammered coinage, with script density rendering full legibility difficult on this fractional denomination. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Central field carries a multi-line Persian legend in Nasta'liq script, largely off flan owing to the diminutive planchet. The inscription records the mint name and regnal year: 'Zarb Murshidabad sanat 12 julus maimanat manus,' indicating the coin was struck at the Murshidabad mint in the 12th year of the emperor's auspicious reign. Layout is consistent with Bengal Presidency fractional rupee coinage of the period, with the mint epithet 'maimanat manus' (of tranquil prosperity) a standard honorific applied to the Murshidabad issue. The hammered fabric produces a slightly irregular outline typical of this series. |
