| Obverse description | Octagonal hammered gold flan bearing a two-line Devanagari inscription naming the ruler Gaurinath Singha, divided by a horizontal line across the centre of the field. The legend is rendered in a bold, archaic script style characteristic of Ahom coinage, with characters arranged in the upper and lower registers of the coin. Dot punctuation marks appear at intervals within the field. The granular, irregular surface is typical of the hand-struck technique employed by the Ahom mint. |
