| Reverse description | Central device comprising the oval shield of the Grimaldi arms — fusilly in lozenges of argent and gules, here rendered as alternating diagonal bands — surmounted by a princely crown with elaborate scrollwork supporters on either side. A fleur-de-lis appears prominently above the crown, flanked by foliate branches. The surrounding Latin legend, interrupted by the date, reads ·1665· FLORENT CVM· LILIO· AN· DO· (They flourish with the lily, in the year of the Lord). Fine denticles ring the milled border. |

| Additional information |
Louis I ruled Monaco under French protection following the 1641 Treaty of Péronne, which ended nearly 300 years of Spanish suzerainty over the principality. These small silver divisions were struck in extremely limited quantities — Monaco had no permanent mint infrastructure and relied on contracted dies and sporadic production runs, which explains why survivors in any condition are genuinely scarce rather than merely undervalued.
