Small dhows are visible on the water in the lower field. In the lower central field, the denomination '1/12 ANNA' and the Hijri date '1311' appear as an incuse legend. The circular Latin legend around the periphery reads 'IMAUM OF MUSCAT & OMAN SULTAN FESSAL BIN TOORKY', separated by small dots, all within a beaded border.

The British Indian rupee dominated actual commerce throughout his reign, which likely explains why these small copper fractions saw limited practical circulation and survive with surprising frequency in uncleaned, lightly worn condition.
