Small mullets or stars are scattered in the field surrounding the shield, adding decorative detail typical of Guelders coinage of the period. A circular Latin legend reads DOMINVS MIHI ADIVTOR, encircling the central device. The overall design is characteristic of the Habsburg Low Countries hammered silver coinage of the mid-16th century. The flan is irregular, with the legend partially weak at the periphery due to the hammered striking technique. |
